Jordan River Float Trip
Come float the Jordan River with Fish With Jim Outfitters on our 16’ Saturn Cataraft. The Jordan River is 25 miles long in the northwestern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan. The Jordan's headwaters rise from springs in the upper Jordan River Valley northeast of Mancelona and flows into Lake Charlevoix at East Jordan. The Jordan is the largest tributary of Lake Charlevoix and was the first river to be designated in Michigan's Natural Rivers Program.
Fish With Jim Outfitters fishes the Jordan River for Salmon and Steelhead from late August through April. In addition to the Salmon and Steelhead it is not uncommon to catch quality brown trout, brook trout and rainbow trout. During the heart of winter Fish With Jim Outfitters takes a break from the river fishing and offers quality ice fishing trips. As soon as the ice becomes unsafe we are right back to the river to offer the quality outing that the Jordan is until the steelhead migrate back into the lake typically at the end of April.
We provide your group of up to 2, everything needed to enjoy a day on the river.

Where We Walk and Wade
Boyne River is Lake Charlevoix's second-largest tributary, after the Jordan River. The Boyne River has great runs of migratory salmon and steelhead fishing opportunities below the Dam and along the 5.6 miles downstream to Boyne City where it empties into Lake Charlevoix.
Bear River is a small river in Northwest Lower Michigan that is 14.7 miles long. Its headwaters begin at the southeast side of Walloon Lake and flows into Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey. It is the largest tributary of Little Traverse Bay. The lower end of the Bear River has great runs of migratory salmon and steelhead fishing opportunities in Petoskey.
Elk River is a very short but significant river in the Lake Michigan drainage basin of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is only 1.5 miles in length and flows from Elk Lake into Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. It forms a waterway and harbor for the municipality of Elk Rapids. The Elk River below the Dam has great runs of migratory salmon and steelhead fishing opportunities and has limited opportunities for Atlantic Salmon above the dam during the winter.
Boardman River is a 28.2-mile-long river that flows into the west arm of Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, Michigan. The Boardman River is considered one of the top ten trout streams in Michigan. Before entering the Grand Traverse Bay, it becomes Boardman Lake, a natural lake that was originally 259 acres in size and increased to 339 acres after the Union Street Dam was constructed in 1867. After flowing through Boardman Lake, the river descends through downtown Traverse City, following a hairpin-shaped course to Grand Traverse Bay. Below the Union Street Dam the Boardman River has great runs of migratory Salmon, Steelhead and Lake Trout fishing opportunities.
