Come float the beautiful Jordan River with Fish With Jim Outfitters out of our 13’ Smithfly Big Shoals Raft.  We offer several half day and full day options from Graves Crossing to Lake Charlevoix using float fishing and conventional fishing methods.  We have trip options for novice anglers to advanced anglers with good success rates.

The Jordan River is 25 miles long in the northwestern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan.  The Jordan's headwaters rise from springs in the upper Jordan River Valley northeast of Mancelona and flows into Lake Charlevoix at East Jordan.  The Jordan is the largest tributary of Lake Charlevoix and was the first river to be designated in Michigan's Natural Rivers Program.

Jordan River Steelhead GuideSalmon and Steelhead Fishing

Fishing the Jordan River can be a challenging game with high rewards.  The wild river is full of amazing holes that are extremely hard to access without a boat.  Beginning in late August the Jordan River has its first run of migratory fish with the return of the King Salmon.  The King run will typically lasts through September followed by a decent run on Coho Salmon that typically begins mid October.  Following the Coho run, typically around November 15, decent numbers of Steelhead enter the river to feed on the eggs of the spawning salmon.  The fall steelhead run on the Jordan River normally peaks around Christmas.  It is common to catch resident trophy brown trout when fishing the Jordan River during the Fall Salmon and Steelhead season.

During the heart of winter Fish With Jim Outfitters takes a break from the river fishing and offers quality ice fishing trips.  As soon as the ice becomes unsafe, typically around the end of March, we are right back to the river to offer spring steelhead fishing trips until the last Saturday in April when the trout season opens.

Boyne River Salmon GuideWalk and Wade The Boyne River for Salmon and Steelhead

Fish With Jim Outfitters offers walk and wade fishing trips during the week on the Boyne River for Salmon and Steelhead.

Boyne River is Lake Charlevoix's second-largest tributary, after the Jordan River.  The Boyne River has great runs of migratory salmon and steelhead fishing opportunities below the Dam and along the 5.6 miles downstream to Boyne City where it empties into Lake Charlevoix.

Beginning in late August the Boyne River has its first run of migratory fish with the return of the King Salmon.  The King run will typically lasts through September followed by a decent run on Coho Salmon that typically begins mid October.  Following the Coho run, typically around November 15, decent numbers of Steelhead enter the river to feed on the eggs of the spawning salmon.  The fall steelhead run on the Boyne River normally peaks around Christmas.
